About Us - Jikela Studios

Jikela Studios, founded in 2022, is a nonprofit organization (279-434 NPO) based in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. We are dedicated to empowering youth, women, and people with disabilities by offering access to creative skills, safe spaces, and real opportunities in music, design, digital media, storytelling, and entrepreneurship. At Jikela Studios, creativity isn’t just about skills—it’s about restoring hope, transforming futures, and building a more inclusive creative economy that benefits everyone.

Our Mission

Is to break socio-economic barriers through creativity. We equip young people with the tools to build careers, businesses, and confidence in under-resourced communities. We foster lasting change by providing real opportunities for creative growth and collaboration.

Creative skills training in music, design, content, storytelling, and events.
Digital literacy and entrepreneurship.
Paid project-based learning experiences.
Safe spaces where youth can express themselves and collaborate.
Nurture emerging talent and equip youth and women with skills to succeed in the
creative and music industries.
Provide the tools needed to build viable, long-lasting careers in the creative sector.
